

She was born in Belchertown, MA on August 7, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (Page) Landry. She graduated from Westfield State University with a degree in Elementary Education. Edna married Richard Johnson from Southampton, MA and moved to Amherst, Ma where she started her family.
Helping others and raising her family was Edna’s life work. She started a branch of Birthright in Amherst. The organization provided resources for mothers to choose life through pregnancy support and adoption referrals. Edna opened Summerhill Home, a place for pregnant women who needed a place to stay. She was also a dedicated hospice volunteer for many years. A devout Catholic, the Prolife movement was near and dear to Edna’s heart; she cared about all life, in every stage.
Edna had many hobbies including reading, traveling, antiquing, gardening, crafting and sewing. Many of her creative projects were donated to others through parish Christmas fairs, and prayer shawl ministries. Edna opened “The Antique Barn” on her property on South Pleasant St. in Amherst and enjoyed sharing her knowledge of antiques and collectables with all who stopped into her shop.
Edna leaves behind her children, Russell Johnson and his wife Oya, Jennifer Wilson and her husband Michael and Timothy Johnson and his wife Jennifer; a brother Ted Landry and his husband Patrick Mavros and her second husband Frank Bastin. She also leaves her eight grandchildren, Brittany Farrar and her husband Ben, Emily Parks and her husband Earl, Elise Wilson, Ryan Johnson, Christopher Wilson, Adalyn Johnson, Levi Johnson, Finnley Johnson and five great grandchildren, Emily, Jordan, Cali and Lainey Parks and Alexander Farrar. She was predeceased by her first husband Richard Johnson and her siblings Clarence Landry Jr., Lawrence Landry, Mary MacDonald and Dorothy Fouk.
Edna will be remembered for her faith, generosity, and love of family. She will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, May 21st at 11 AM at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. She will be laid to rest with her first husband Richard in Center Cemetery, Southampton, MA, at a later date. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington has been entrusted with the arrangements.
