Edward R. Karpiej

Born March 20, 1940 in New Britain son of the late Edward and Jennie (Kapraszewski) Karpiej. He had retired from the state of CT, D.O.T. where he worked as an engineer for 37 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his children, Robert E. Karpiej and his wife Linda, Kenneth A. Karpiej and his wife Heather all of Torrington, Lori Ann Dibble and her husband Lee of Southington, a sister Judy Church and her husband Gary of Berlin, 5 grandchildren, Tyler, Courtney, Madison, Austin and Mason, an aunt Sophie Kowalski of Berlin, sister-in-law Marilyn LaRosa of New Britain, brother-in-law and his wife Paul and Christine LaRosa of Berlin and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Caroline Karpiej.

The Funeral will be held Saturday 8:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington to St. Dominic Church in Southington at 9 a.m. for a Mass. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours will be Friday 4-7 p.m. Donations may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Assoc., CT/Western MA Office, 306 Industrial Park Rd., Suite 108, Middletown, CT 06489.
