Edward M. Schlegel

Born June 6, 1935 in Derby, he was the son of the late Walter and Dorothy (Lyon) Schlegel. Ed was a graduate of UCONN and was an active member of the Southington Lions Club.

Ed along with his wife Ann owned and operated the Schlegel Insurance Agency in Oakville for 30 years.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Edward W. Schlegel and wife Donna of Bristol, Carol Meda of Plainville and Suzanne Landi and husband Richard of Pawtucket, VA; a stepdaughter Cheryl Eckel and husband Robert of Andover, MA; a brother Ronald Schlegel and wife Charolette of Huntington, 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a stepson Dominic DiBattisto and a brother and

sister-in-law, Walter and Jan Schlegel.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations to be made in memory of Edward to the Southington Lions Club Eye Fund, C/O the Southington Lions Club, P.O.
