Elaine King

     On August 27, 1932, Elaine was born the daughter of the late John Warner and the late Minnie (Nortier) (Warner) Bergen. She was actually born in the house that served as the Wolcott Town Clerk's office for many years when her grandfather, the late Wilfred V. Warner was the Wolcott Town Clerk. Elaine and her family eventually moved back into the house after the passing of her mother, Minnie Bergen who had also served as the Wolcott Town Clerk. Elaine served as the assistant town clerk from 1954 until she was appointed in 1978. All totaled the family held the Wolcott Town Clerk's office for 100 years beginning in 1905.

     Elaine was also a member of the CT Town Clerk's Association, Ladies Aux of Wolcott Volunteer Fire Dept. Co 1. , The Wolcott Historical Society, and the Republican Women's Club.

     Elaine is survived by three daughters Jeanne King-Lathrop and her husband Richard, Julie A. King and her husband Brian, and Jan Marie King all of Wolcott, a son John A. King III and his wife Kathryn. She also leaves a brother Ralph Warner of Wolcott and Wilfred Warner of Southbury, four grandchildren Kevin M. Lathrop, Joanne King, Candice Jeanne Lathrop Andrew King and her great granddaughter Kathryn better known as "Katie", and several nieces and nephews.

     Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Sunday February 17, 2008 at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. Spring burial will be in Woodtick Cemetery. Visitation for personal friends and family will be Sunday from 11AM to 1 PM.
