

Southington- Eleanor Viola (Trotta) DellaVecchia, 101, passed away on Saturday April 11, 2009 at Southington Care Center surrounded by her loving family. Eleanor was the wife of the late Pascal DellaVecchia.
Born on April 7, 1908 in Southington, she was the daughter of the late Cuno and Josephine (Landrette) Trotta.
Eleanor was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved parties and was celebrated at all community events that she attended. She was a fixture at Music on the Green and could be seen at many of her grandchildren and great grandchildren?s sporting events, especially the S.H.S. boys and girls basketball, soccer, and wrestling. She was an avid UCONN boys and girls basketball fan. Her favorite baseball team was the NY Yankees and WWE was her favorite TV show. She was the oldest parishioner of St. Thomas Church.
She is survived by her son Pascal and his friend Carey Korenkiewicz 3 daughters, Marie Binkowski and her husband Robert, Eleanor Welch and her husband Timothy, Diane McNicholas Butsacos and her husband Nicholas, a daughter-in-law Jean DellaVecchia all of Southington, 1 Grandchildren Kim Warner, Michael DellaVecchia and Samatha, Pat DellaVecchia and his fiancée Patricia, Patricia Warton and Gary, Laura Welch, Christine Meier and Kevin, David Welch and Beth, Elizabeth McNicholas, Meghan Leggett and Jamie, Kathy Moss and Charlie, Mark DellaVecchia and Michelle and Tony DellaVecchia and 11 Great-Grandchildren Brandon and Tyler Moss, Tagan and Dawson Welch, Adalain and Hartlee Meier, Jake and Grace DellaVecchia, Jamie, Isabella, and Nicholas Leggett. She is also survived by her sister Edith Grasso and her husband John, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by a son Donald DellaVecchia, sisters, Philomena Rossi, Amelia Rungi, Monica Milne and brothers Anthony and Frank Trotta.
The funeral will be held on Thursday April 16, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Thomas Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
