Eleanor Maurice

Eleanor was born in Waterbury on May 13, 1931, daughter of the late Ralph and Mae (Waitkus) Schuster. She was the Assistant Town Clerk, primarily to the late Elaine King, for over 40 years, retiring along with Elaine in 2006. A Wolcott resident since 1967, she was a parishioner of St. Pius X Church. She was also a member of the CT Town Clerk’s Association, the Ladies Auxiliary of Wolcott Volunteer Fire Dept. Co #1 and the Republican Town Committee. She was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and loved to watch “goff” on TV every Sunday.

Eleanor had a beautiful personality and will be deeply missed by her son Dennis and his wife Mary Maurice, her daughter Dorinda Maurice, with whom she resided, daughter in-in-law Jean Maurice, all of Wolcott, grandchildren Michelle Maurice, of Cannonsburg, PA and Robert Maurice, her sister Dolores (Carmine) Papa of Wolcott and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Roger, two sons, David and Donald and her brother, Ralph Schuster, Jr.

Funeral will be Monday 9:15 AM from DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 690 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott, to St. Pius X Church for Mass at 10AM. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 5 to 8 PM, at the funeral home. Visit www.dellavecchiafh.com for online condolences and directions.
