

Elizabeth Rose (Seraphin) Abramson, 77, of Southington passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at the HCC at New Britain General. She was the beloved wife of Wallace Abramson with whom she shared 56 very happy years of marriage.
Born August 11, 1937 in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Pauline (Kulas) Seraphin.
Most of all Betty loved her family. She especially loved being a grandmother, helping to care for her grandchildren whenever she could. She selflessly gave them her time, love, energy and wise counsel. Betty loved to travel with family and friends. She enjoyed cruising around the world with family, road trips, and especially trips to Walt Disney World, where she organized fun-filled family reunions. She was always ready for an adventure, and lived life to the fullest every day. Betty loved to cook and bake. She took great pride in teaching her granddaughter to make her special carrots. Betty enjoyed sharing her delicious cookies with her grandson's FIRST Robotics team, for whom she cheered loudly.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughters; Mary Beth Bunko and husband Michael and Mary Ellen McPhee and husband Douglas all of Southington.; two brothers Robert Seraphin of VA and William Seraphin of NC; five grandchildren Katherine and Matthew Bunko, Jetta, Mabel and Ian McPhee along with many nieces and nephew. She was predeceased by a brother Eugene Seraphin.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial calling hours will be Thursday, from 5 to 7 p.m.at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington.
