Elizabeth L. Valk

Born July 9, 1935 in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marguerite (Peete) Grabowski.

Elizabeth was employed by J.C. Penney in Meriden and was a parishioner of St. Dominic Church.

Besides her husband Ralph she leaves two sons, Scott Valk of Southington, daughter-in-law Debora, Chad Valk and wife Tammy of Southington; a brother Jack Grabowski of New Britain; a sister Mary Wojtusik of New Britain; three grandchildren, Melissa, Daniel and Madison Valk along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers and sisters. The family would like to thank the Hospital of Central CT Bradley and New Britain Campuses for the care and support given to our mother during her time of illness, also a special thank you to the ICU team at New Britain.

The funeral will be held on Monday, Dec. 6, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington for a mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the HCC at New Britain General Campus, 100 Grand St., New Britain, CT 06050 or HCC at Bradley Memorial Campus, 81 Meriden Ave., Southington, CT 06489.
