He was born Nov. 19, 1941 in Ankara, Turkey son of Melahat Balasaygun of Savannah, GA, and the late Muharrem Balasaygun.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter Bahar Matusik and her husband Anthony of Southington and a son Mehmet Balasaygun and his wife Karen of Freehold, N.J., and 5 grandchildren.
The Service will be held Monday 11:30 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Southington. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Alzheimer?s Research Association, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
