Ernest Alger

Ernest W. Alger, 86, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden. He was the beloved husband Ann (Catanzaro) Alger for 61 years.

He was born on May 30, 1936 in Southington, the son of the late Russell and Sylvia (Campagnano) Alger. Prior to his retirement Ernie was employed by Pratt & Whitney for many years. He enjoyed gathering with his family and friends especially on the holidays. Ernie was very artistic he enjoyed oil painting and the arts. He loved to go to the casino and playing the horse races.

In addition to his wife Ann, he leaves a brother Floyd Alger and sister-in-law June Alger as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 17th at 11 am at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be prior to the service on Tuesday morning from 9-11 am.
