He was born August 18, 1935 in Mine-Hof-Lebeau (Burgenland), Austria, a son of the late Frank and Rose (Holtzmann) Muller.
Ernest was employed by Peck Spring for 47 years until his retirement. He was a member of the CT Air National Guard, the Plainville American Legion Post 33 and the Austrian Club.
Ernest was an avid saltwater fisherman, bringing home barrels full of bluefish. He loved planting his vegetable garden. He traveled to his favorite place on earth (Hawaii) 8 times with the love of his life, his wife of 36 years, Dorothy. He enjoyed spending time at the casinos. He will be sorely missed by the staff at his second home, his favorite restaurant JD’s Pizzeria for the past 40 years.
He was at his happiest when he would see his 3 girls together. He loved his whole family more than anything else.
Ernest leaves his three daughters, Kris Topa and husband John of AZ, Linda Muller of Southington, and Kim Linderman-Silva and husband Ricardo of Bristol. He also leaves behind his step-children: Donna Costello and husband Arthur of Boston, Diane DiCapua of AZ, Larry Fanion of Mazatlan, Mexico, and Joseph Fanion and wife Susan of Bristol; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law Henry “Buddy” Bailey of Bristol and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his infant son Kurt Muller and his brother Albert Muller.
A funeral home service will be held on Thursday, December 8th at 11 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m.
