

Born in Meriden on July 1, 1918, she was the devoted daughter of the late John and Magdalene (Antoniou) Chrisoulis and cherished wife of the late John Banios.
Having graduated from New Britain High School, she spent most of her life in New Britain before moving to Kensington and then to Southington. She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in New Britain and their ladies organization Philoptochos which translates as “Friends of the Poor” and a member of The Golden Rascals of St. George. She retired from New Britain General Hospital where she worked as an executive secretary to the chief pathologist for over 20 years. She was a dedicated volunteer at the New Britain Public Library’s history room for many years as well as being a past board member of the New Britain YWCA.
Mrs. Banios leaves two loving daughters Priscilla Kolpak of Southington and Joanna Wishart and her husband William of Harwich, MA. She was “the best yiayia ever” to her three grandsons, Douglas Kolpak and his wife Jennifer, Gregory Wishart and his wife Caroline, and Jack Wishart and his wife Sarah and wonderful great-yiayia to Jack, Eleni and Hunter Kolpak and Nolan and Finn Wishart. She is also deeply mourned by Lily Holthoff of Farmington and her two sons Marcus and Daryll to whom she was a second mother and yiayia. She is also survived by a sister Ann Chrisoulis of Cocoa Beach,FL and sister-in-law Nancy Chrisoulis of Southington as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grand daughter Crystine Kolpak, brothers John, Arthur and Anthony Chrisoulis and a sister Mary Chrisoulis.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church 301 West Main St. New Britain, CT. Burial will be in West Lane Cemetery in Kensington. Friends may offer condolences to the family Thursday morning from 9:30 to 11 AM at the church prior to the Service.
