

Frances Wanda Zercie, 95, lifelong resident of Southington, CT until recent months, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, at The Village at East Farms in Waterbury. Born in Southington, CT on August 22, 1929, she was the beloved daughter of the late Stanislaw and Agata (Kochanska) Ziebka.
Frances was the devoted wife of the late Leo Zercie, who passed in 1982. A dedicated homemaker throughout her life, Frances found joy in caring for her family. She was known for her warmth, kindness, and especially for her incredible baking—her apple pie was a cherished family favorite.
Frances was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Southington and spent many years as part of the Immaculata Women’s Group and Rosary Society. She had a love for reading and an appreciation for the beauty of flowers and the natural world. In her younger years, Frances enjoyed traveling with her sister and best friend, Elizabeth, creating memories that lasted a lifetime. Her great-grandchildren brought her immense happiness and were truly the light of her life.
Frances is survived by her loving son Richard Zercie and his wife Denise; her beloved sister Elizabeth Drozd; her cherished grandchildren Danielle Zercie and Jessica Butkevich and husband Marc; and her adored great-grandchildren Andi, Ryder, and Callie. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory. She was predeceased by her sister Elsie Pasquale and her brothers Matthew and Walter Ziebka.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 9:00 AM at The Church of St. Dominic, 1050 Flanders Road, Southington. All are asked to meet directly at the church. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, South End Road, Plantsville. There will be no calling hours.
