Gerald McKenney

He was born July 14, 1925 in Fort Fairfield, ME, son of the late Jerry and Bessie (Hanson) McKenney.

He is survived by a son George J. McKenney and wife Sandy (Allen) of VA, his sister Donna Lynch of NJ, and his brother, Elwin McKenney of CT, 3 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by a brother Kenneth, 2 sisters, Faustina and Leona and a daughter Almy.

Jerry was devoted member of the Zion Lutheran Church. He served in Company B 33th Infantry out of Maine. He was awarded a purple heart and good conduct medal for the Romeamo and North appennienes campaigns in WWII. Jerry was employed for 30 years at Pratt & Whitney in Southington as a machinist.

The Funeral will be Sunday March 3, 2013 at 6 pm at Zion Lutheran Church, 531 Woodruff St. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4 pm at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington.
