Lit a candle in memory of Geraldine “Geri” Olander

My first memory of meeting Geri was at Babcci's house.  She looked like a super model.  Her legs went for miles and was dressed really groovey!  She was sitting on Eddie's lap just glowing.  Beautiful inside and out.  I caught them "smooching" and remember giggling.  She was always glowing!  A super kind and gentle soul.

So sad to hear of Geri's passing.  I knew her through Paul Grubbs, who taught with her at King Phillip.  We had so many fun times that will never be forgotten - as Paul said, she made things very memorable with her outgoing personality and great sense of adventure and humor. Geri and I worked literally back to back. She always put a smile on my face with her quick witted jokes and kindness even on the worst of days. May she rest in peace knowing she will be missed and most definitely not forgotten.

Dear Ed,
      I don't know if you would remember me, but I taught at King Philip with Geri, and she was a dear friend for those years.  I remember when you and she were first dating and we were at several parties together.  Geri and I lived near each other, and I also got to know her parents.  In fact, the last time I talked to her was after I read her father's obituary and phoned her.
     Along with other friends, Geri and I went many places together, such as Boston and New York to see shows, and one summer she even came home to North Carolina with me to visit my family.  She, my sister, and another friends and I went to Atlanta for several days and had a great time.
     What I recall most about Geri is her wit and sense of humor, and I can still hear things that she said that made me laugh.  Geri was also sensitive and extremely kind, and I count myself fortunate to have had her for a friend when we were both young and just beginning to find our way in life.
      I know that you, your son, and all Geri's family and friends will miss her tremendously.   Even though I had not seen her in many years, she is still a vivid presence in my memory and someone who is impossible to forget.  You have my most sincere sympathy.

Geri and I were co-workers and, more importantly, friends.  I will miss her dearly and her daily e-mail jokes.

Auntie Geri was a special lady!  Everyone she met knew that she genuinely cared about them.   She would remember small things that we talked about and would ask about them on our next visit.  From the time we were small children she encouraged us and inspired us to be better people.  I remember all the trips with Uncle Ed, Aunt Geri, Matt and Grandma Olander.  Aunt Geri's passing left a hole in our hearts.  She will forever be missed!  All our love!  Kim and Andrew

Geri such a sweet wonderful Lady. I loved to come to work at Omnicare and see her beautiful smile and laughter. You could not help to smile when you see Geri's beautiful face light up when she sees you! She will be greatly missed. Here is a Poem I hope will help the Olander family:
