

Born on April 26, 1939, in Squille (Caserta), Italy. Giovanna was the daughter of the late Raffaele and Angiolina (Tebano) Audi.
Giovanna was a woman of warmth, grace, and generosity. She was deeply passionate about her hobbies, including crocheting, cooking, and tending to her garden. Her family and friends cherished her meals, often made with love, and her homemade creations. Giovanna’s faith and heritage were central to her life, as she was a proud member of both the Italian Rosary Society and the Sorelle D’Italia in America organization.
In addition to her husband, Giovanni, Giovanna leaves behind three children: Cristiano Tancredi and his wife, Tina, of Wallingford; Clementina Mennone and her husband, Carmine, of Plantsville; and Raffaele Tancredi of Southington. She was also a cherished grandmother to eight grandchildren: Rosanna Ventura, Gianna Mennone Cameron, Giovanni Tancredi, Luigi Tancredi, Carmine Mennone Jr., Marisa Tancredi, Christopher Tancredi, and Nicholas Tancredi. Giovanna’s joy in life was further blessed by the presence of three great-grandchildren: Carmelo Ventura, Alessandra Ventura, and Matteo “Teddy” Tancredi. She is also survived by her two brothers, Stefano Audi and his wife, Rosemarie, of Southington, Domenico Audi and his wife, Melina, of Germany; and sister Maria (Audi) Mazzaro and her husband Domenico, of Germany. In addition, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in Southington, Italy, Germany, and France. She was predeceased by her sister Filomena (Audi) Tambe and brother in law Luigi Tancredi.
Giovanna’s kindness, devotion, and strength of character will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and community. The family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Letterio Asciuto for his dedication, compassion and care, and to the Hartford Healthcare Hospice nurses, especially Kathy whose kindness and support brought great comfort during a difficult time.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington, for a Mass of Christian Burial. She will be laid to rest in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 2-5 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington.
