

He was born October 14, 1923 in Easton, ME, and was the son of the late Herbert and Henrietta Golder. Harley lived his childhood in Maine and Canada and later moved to Cheshire and then making his home in Bristol.
He was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater, earning medals for his dedication and bravery.
Harley worked in road construction for many years prior to going into business for himself, hauling scrap metals and welding. He was dedicated to his work long into his retirement.
He was a dedicated husband married 60 years, June 20, 1953 and father. He was a gentleman first and was a person who was approachable. He touched many people of all ages and always knew what to say to someone.
In addition to his wife he leaves three daughters, Patty Golder DiMauro and husband James of New Britain, Sherry Golder Balzano and fiancée Gerald Hayden of S. Windsor and Sharon Falish of New Hampshire; a sister Marion Caldwell of Stephenville, NF; two brothers, Kenneth Golder and wife Pauline of Echo Bay, Ontario, Canada and Carl Golder and wife Sandra of Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada.
The funeral will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial will be at the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. Calling hours will be Friday morning from 9-11 a.m.
