

Harold L. Charette, 89, of Palm City, FL and formerly of Southington, CT., passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 9, 2026. He was the beloved husband of the late Jo Ann (Marotto) Charette.
Born on January 9, 1937 in Fort Kent, ME., Harold was the son of the late Leon and Rose (Hebert) Charette.
Harold owned and operated Charette Builders in Southington, CT for many years, and later in life, Port Clinton Marina in CT and Pelican’s Nest Marina in FL. Harold was a founding member of The Bank of Southington, an avid boater and proudly served his country with the National Guard. He took great pride in his work, and was known for his strong work ethic, devotion to his family and kind heart. Harold will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children, Scott Charette and his wife Michele of Port St. Lucie, FL, Jeffery Charette and his wife Candace of Hooksett, NH, and Gail Kirstein and her husband Harold of Boca Raton, FL; his longtime loving companion, Nina Butkiewicz of Palm City; his sister, Gloria Francis Cyr and her husband Leonard of Southington and his brother Albert Charette of Cheshire. He also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held on Monday, May 18th at 10:15 AM from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main St. Southington to St. Dominic Church 1050 Flanders Rd. Southington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife. Calling hours will be Sunday at the Funeral Home from 1 to 4 PM.
