
He was born February 28, 1920 in Manhattan, NY son of the late Emil and Louise (Kastner) Soehnel. Mr. Soehnel was retired from the NYNEX Telephone Co. after 45 years of service and was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army and received the Bronze Star Metal for his Services. Moving to Bergenfield, NJ in 1950, he was a resident of Cedar Street for over 40 years, until moving to Sun City Center Florida permanently in 1992.
Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Flynn of Sun City Center, FL, 2 sons, Lawrence Soehnel of Tappan, NY and Steven H. Soehnel of Albany NY, 6 Grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held on Monday, August 7th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Southington. Burial with Military Honors will be at the convenience of the family at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. There are no calling hours. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington is assisting with the arrangements.
