

He was born Nov. 11, 1935 in Waterbury and was raised by his mother, Ruth Carrington Donnelly in the home of his grandparents, Lewis and Annie Carrington. He had retired from S.N.E.T. after 33 years and had later worked at CCSU. Mr. Donnelly was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a parishioner of Mary Our Queen Church. He was a lifelong Red Sox fan, coached youth sports in Southington and was a faithful fan of the UCONN Huskies. Nat King Cole and Ted Williams were his idols.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Michael J. Donnelly and his wife Jane of Ridgefield, Stephen J. Donnelly and his wife Karen of Cheshire, Kathryn (Donnelly) Murray and her husband Russell of Baltimore, MD, a sister Ruth Charbonneau of Waterbury, his grandchildren, Shane, Brendan, Allison, Colin, Keira, Julia, Michaela, and several nieces, a nephew and his cats Rusty and Isabelle.
The Funeral will be held Wednesday, 10:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to Mary Our Queen Church for an 11:00 mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be with Military honors at St. Thomas Cemetery.
