

James "Jimmy" Richard Moscariello, age 55, of Waterbury, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Waterbury Hospital. Jimmy was born on November 6, 1968 to the late Edward Moscariello Sr. and Lucille (Loguidice) Zopka in Waterbury, Connecticut. He was raised in Waterbury and resided there his entire life.
Jimmy was an active individual who participated in the Special Olympics of CT for over 20 years. He competed in track, but was most happy while bowling with all his friends. Jimmy was a huge movie enthusiast with an extensive collection of movies and DVD's. He could always make you laugh with a random movie quote. He thoroughly enjoyed watching wrestling on TV but most of all his favorite WWE competitor Becky Lynch. Jimmy was employed at the local Stop and Shop for many years and was a parishioner of St. Peter and Paul Church in Waterbury.
Jimmy is survived by his three siblings; Edward Moscariello Jr, Rosalia Charette and Angela Larson. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews; Rosie, Richard Jr., Courtney, Michael and Tyler. He was preceded in death by his mother and father as well as his step-father Michael Zopka.
A graveside inurnment will take place at St. Thomas Cemetery in Southington on a date and time to be announced here. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Jimmy's memory may be made to the Special Olympics of Connecticut at, www.soct.org; or the American Lung Association at, www.lung.org.
