

James S. Needham, 85 of Southington, CT died on Friday, October 11, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Johanna (Brunalli) Needham for 50 years and the cherished father of daughter Laura Needham of Brooklyn, NY.
He was born July 8, 1939, in Washington, DC, a son of the late Patrick Henry and Anna Mae (Ryan) Needham. Jim graduated from St. John’s College High School in Washington, DC and Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, VA with a degree in electrical engineering.
Jim was proud to serve in the US Marine Corps for 23 years, reaching the rank of lieutenant colonel. His second career of 41 years was with Brunalli Construction Company, first as a field superintendent and then as comptroller.
He also leaves a sister, Patricia (Needham) Burns of Vienna, VA. Jim was a member of St. Luke Parish and belonged to the Southington Elks.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville on Thursday, October 24 at 11 am. Please meet directly at the church. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Visitation for Jim will be Wednesday, October 23 between 4-7 pm at the Della Vecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main St., Southington.
