

Jane (Testa) Gabriel, 101, of Meriden, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, her birthday, at The Bradley Home and Pavilion. Born on May 1, 1925, in Southington, she was the beloved daughter of the late Giannovi “John” and Maria (Lavorna) Testa.
Jane lived a long and vibrant life marked by independence, strength, and generosity. She was employed for many years as a Lab Technician at AGC Inc. in South Meriden, where her dedication and work ethic were well respected.
A devoted parishioner of Holy Angels Church in South Meriden, Jane’s faith was an important part of her life. She was known for her active lifestyle and could often be found walking daily at the Meriden Square Mall where she was well known by all. She also enjoyed staying fit through classes at the former Gloria Stevens Exercise Parlor.
Jane had a generous heart and found great joy in baking and cake decorating for her family and friends, creating countless beautiful memories along the way. She loved to travel, especially to Florida, and cherished many vacations spent at the beach and at a Niantic cottage for over 30 years.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Susan Johnson; her sons-in-law, William Bridges and Peter Mulready; her grandson, Sean Mulready; her great-grandson, Luke Mulready; and several nieces and nephews.
Jane was predeceased by her daughters, Barbara Mulready and MaryEllen Bridges; her sisters, Rose Marchetti, Vincenza Krafick, and Florence Harrington; and her brother, Frank Testa.
Jane will be remembered for her strength, warmth, beautiful smile and the love she shared so freely with those around her. Her legacy lives on in the lives of her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Visitation will be held at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Southington, CT 06489, on Thursday May 7, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Home Prayer Service at 11:00 am.
Burial will take place at St. Thomas Cemetery in Southington. In lieu of flowers donation in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by going to www.stjude.org
