Joan E. Gillette

Born Feb. 28, 1932 in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late John Joseph and Theresa (O'Brien) Callahan.

Joan retired from the Southington Board of Education, the records department at Bradley Memorial Hospital and the CT Heart Group.

Joan was an avid reader and a member of the Cheshire Garden Club. She was past president of the Bradley Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and she was active in many civic organizations.

She is survived by her children, Joseph Gillette and wife Kristine of Simsbury, Debra Cianciolo and husband Jim and Beth Angiletta and husband Marc of Southington, grandchildren Michael, Kati, Steven, Lauren, Nicole, Chelsea, Zoe, Tess, Kari, David and Jack and 6 great grandchildren. She also leaves a sister Catherine Bruder of MA and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 5 siblings.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016 at 10 am at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. There are no calling hours. DellaVecchia Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
