

Joan M. (Carroll) Reetz, 86, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at The Hospital of Central Connecticut at Bradley Memorial in Southington. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul Reetz.
Born on November 23 in Newton, New Jersey, Joan was the daughter of the late Hugh and Rita (McCarthy) Carroll. She spent her childhood growing up in Rhode Island and Cape Cod, where she developed a lifelong appreciation for family, friendship, and community.
Throughout her career, Joan worked as a secretary and administrative assistant for several companies, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues through her dedication, professionalism, and warm personality. Outside of work, she enjoyed many hobbies and passions. She was an avid bridge player who treasured time spent with friends around the card table, and she found great joy and creativity in quilting.
Joan's greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her two sons, Christopher Walker and his wife, Amparo, of Lake George, New York, and Frank Walker and his wife, Susan, of Cheshire; her three sisters, Catherine Ekroth of Ellington, Clare Minor of North Kingstown, Rhode Island, and Fran Bonnet of New York; her five grandchildren, Christopher Walker Jr. of Denver, Colorado, Cathlyn Walker of Hartford, Kaya Walker of Hartford, Jasmine Armstrong of Windsor Locks, and Chelse Roos of Springfield, Massachusetts; her great-grandson, Satch Armstrong; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Joan was predeceased by her daughter, Nancy Roos, and her sister, Nancy Gilisspe.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Southington. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Joan will be remembered for her kindness, her love of family, and the many friendships she nurtured throughout her life. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
