

Southington ? John J. Casale, 91, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Southington Care Center surrounded by his loving family. Born March 28, 1921 in Southington, a son of the late Joseph and Adelaide (Pepe) Casale Sr.
A life long resident of Southington, John joined the U.S. Air Force at the age of 21. He served his country during World War II and put his mechanical knowledge to work on the B -17 Bombers. Upon his return home from the service he started his own electrical business, Casale Electric until his retirement. A very active parishioner of St. Thomas he volunteered his time and many talents to the church and school. John was a member of the Bristol Fish & Game Club and was an original member of Gang of Scarpa Shoda. During the summer months he could be found in his garden or sitting under the grape arbor.
He was a loving brother to his sisters, Lucille Tedesco, Adeline (Dolly) Kearney and Shirley White and husband Harold all of Southington; his brothers, Joseph Casale Jr. and Robert Casale Sr. and wife Maxine all of Southington; sister-in-law Frances Casale of Bristol and aunt Faye Carbone of Southington. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and a special friend Rocco Lauretti.
He was predeceased by his brother William Casale, sister, Anna Sciola; brothers-in-law, Carl P. Sciola Jr and John Kearney and a sister-in-law, Rose Casale. John will be remembered for his honesty and his love for God and the church. He was a man that was always willing to help others.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, 9:15 a.m.from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Thomas Church for a mass at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
