Joe was born to the late Daniel and Julia (DellaPorta) LaPorte on December 31, 1933 in Southington.
He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army and was employed as an Industrial Sales Representative for many years for the BCS Co. until he retired.
Joe loved his friends, family, community, YMCA, and his Italian Heritage. He has many years of volunteerism and has been recognized for his many accomplishments over the years and most recently in the Southington Magazine.
Joe has always been surrounded by wonderful friends and family which has allowed him to pursue his passions and most especially from his wife Dolores. The family would like to thank all of those involved in Joe's life for many years of love and support and a special thank you to the Orchards at Southington for their kind and compassionate care.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his son, Daniel LaPorte and wife Gina of Southington; seven grandchildren, Lindsey Hammell and husband Matt, Christina Rodriques and husband Evan, Alexandra Warzocha and husband Jesse, Alyssa, Chelsea, Brenden and Owen LaPorte; four great-grandchildren, Lainey Hammell, John Hammell, Sienna Warzocha and Bellerae Rodriques; brother-in-law, Donald DeSorbo and wife Jan of Southington; daughter-in-law, Lisa LaPorte of Farmington and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Michael J. LaPorte and two sisters, Lucille LaPorte and Betty Giampaolo.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. (Everyone is asked to meet directly at church) Burial with military honors will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 3rd from 4-7 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington.
