Joyce Brotherton

She was born Feb. 6, 1938 in New Britain, the daughter of the late Howard and Mabel (Barrett) Hornkohl. She had been a LPN at Bristol Hospital and the Southington Care Center.

She is survived by her children, Scott Brotherton and his wife Andrea of Southington, Ellen Brotherton and her husband David Stankus of Wolcott, Sarah Leighton and her husband James of Southington. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Rachel Pierce and her husband Dan, Scott Brotherton Jr. and his wife Lisa, Randy Brotherton and fiancé Jennifer Lee, Justin Leighton and his wife Alison, Amanda Recchini and her husband Nicholas, Taylor Stankus and John Stankus, 6 great grandchildren, Daniel, Olivia, Anthony, Brianna, Emma and Joey, several nieces, nephews and a special companion. “Milton”. She was predeceased by a sister Nancy Peterson.

She enjoyed the beach, her trips to Bermuda and working in her yard.

The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, Feb.11, at 7 pm at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
