

She was born March 19, 1927 in Southington and was the daughter of the late Felice and Giovanna (Testa) Carbone.
Julia was a realtor and one of the first women in Southington to receive her real estate license in 1967. She retired from Coldwell Banker, Simsbury in 1994.
She was an avid reader and painter and loved to follow the UCONN men and women basketball teams, the NY Yankees and enjoyed working on crossword puzzles. Nothing was more important to Julia then her role as a wife and mother. She had a loving kind spirit to all who knew her.
She leaves her children Paula Gold and husband David of Durham, NC, Felice Donahue of Simsbury, Mary Rydingsward of Bristol, Brian Donahue of Bristol, Thomas Donahue and wife Kimberly of Ponte Vedra, FL and John Donahue and wife Wendy of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; son-in-law Paul Phaneuf Jr. of Bristol; daughter-in-law Deborah Donahue of Punta Gorda, FL; ten grandchildren Jordan, Jana, Marc, Kelly, Conor, Rich, Brittany, Brendan, Julia and B. Clayton; eight great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Lisa Phaneuf, her son Michael Donahue; two brothers Chrissie and Robert Carbone and three sisters Jean Heller, Rose Savarese and Julia Carbone.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, January 8th at 11 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 265 Stratton Brook Rd., Simsbury. (everyone is asked to meet directly at the church) She will be laid to rest beside her husband at St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Catherine of Siena Church (in memo please write for Julia Donahue or the Malta House)
