

Born in Waterbury on May 22, 1935, she was the daughter of the late John and Kathleen (Dineen) McHale. She worked for Scovill Manufacturing and Century Brass over 33 years and then retired from Revere Products in 1990.
Known as Joan by most people, she and her husband enjoyed the outdoors, camping in New Hampshire and Maine, boating and swimming. She also was an avid bowler. She enjoyed doing volunteer work and gave generously of her time.
She was also godmother to a niece and a nephew and several family friends.
She is survived by a sister-in-law Carmella and her husband John C. Smagula of Madison, a brother-in-law Nicholas W. Sileo of Naugatuck, nephews John W. Smagula of Philadelphia, PA, Nicholas Sileo Jr. of Ft. Meyers, FL, Robert Dunne of Montpelier, VA, nieces Kathleen Wilcox of Plantsville, Linda Ferland of Prospect, Jennifer Schreiber of Edmeston, NY and seven great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Sheila M. Jacox who lived in West Palm Beach, FL.
Funeral will be Wednesday 9:15 AM from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott to St. Leo The Great Church for a Mass at 10 AM. Burial will be at the conveience of the family. Calling hours are Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzhiemers Resource Center 1261 South Main Street
