Kathleen Mary Watson

Kathleen Mary (Klepps) Watson, 81, of Southington, CT, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at The Hospital of Central CT, New Britain General. Born in Hartford on November 25, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Julia Feeney Klepps.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Kathleen was the beloved wife of David Watson Sr for 62 years. She is survived by her three sons: David Watson Jr. and his wife Margaret, Mark Watson and Jason Watson and his wife Jodie. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Jillian, Jacob and his wife Ashleigh, McKenzie and her husband Tyler, Noah, Bailie, Katherine and her husband Tyler, and Olivia, and great-grandchildren: Hayden, Taytum, and Bowden.

Kathleen was predeceased by her infant son, Arthur Watson, her brother Oscar Klepps, and her sister Doris Mazzera.

Faith and family were at the heart of Kathleen's life. She was known for her kind and nurturing spirit, her devotion to her home, and her talent in the kitchen, especially her pasta fagioli, macaroni and cheese, and homemade sauce and meatballs. A meticulous homemaker, she took great pride in caring for her family and home, which she considered her life’s most important work.

Kathleen also extended her caring nature to others through her work as a nurse’s aide at the Curtis Home in Meriden, where she touched the lives of many with her compassion and dedication.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 9 AM to 12 PM at DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. Southington with a funeral service to follow at 12 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery in Southington.
