

Lee was born in Waterville Maine on October 4, 1952 to Louis and Leatrice (Taylor) Collar. Lee was a graduate of Southington High School and was employed by Rex Forge in Plantsville for many years. Lee met his late wife Doretta as a child. They were childhood friends then highschool sweethearts and they married in 1972. After starting their family, they settled in Meriden where they lived for most of their lives. Lee served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion, Post 165 of Wolcott for well over 30 years. In his free time he could be found fishing, golfing, watching Nascar or rooting for his beloved New England Patriots with a Bud Light in hand and a smile on his face. Lee loved his yearly vacations to Maine with his family riding quads and fishing the waterways and lakes. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Lee is survived by his mother Leatrice Collar and his two children Lynn (William) Kalvinek and Randy (Melissa) Collar; his grandchildren Greg Tworkowski, Slater and Sage Collar, and Autumn Delisle; his two brothers Larry Collar and Lon (Sandy) Collar; and his two sisters Linda (John) Ferrucci and Lori (Scott) Inman. He was preceded in death by his father Louis L. Collar and brother Louis "Buzzy" Collar.
His family will receive family and friends on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Southington, CT 06489.
