Born and raised in New Haven, Connecticut, she was the cherished daughter of the late James and Anna Randi.
Lenora was the beloved wife of Scott Casserino for 39 years. Together, they built a life grounded in love, partnership, and shared memories that will be treasured always. She was a devoted and proud mother to her sons, Kyle and Kevin Casserino, who were the greatest joys of her life.
A graduate of St. Mary's High School in New Haven, Class of 1977, and Southern Connecticut State University (SCSC), Class of 1981, Lenora went on to build a remarkable career with Metropolitan Insurance Home and Auto, where she worked for more than 39 years. She was respected for her dedication and professionalism, but she especially valued the friendships she formed, many of which became like family to her.
Lenora was also a talented quilter, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her patience and creativity. Many of her quilts became treasured keepsakes. Lenora applied the same diligence to her baking. Her holiday desserts were legendary and her gluten free creations rivaled those of a professional chef.
Lenora had a warm, generous spirit and a natural ability to make people feel welcomed, and cared for. She offered kindness freely, whether through a comforting word, a helping hand, or simply her steady presence. Her laughter, compassion, and sincerity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Lenora enjoyed spending summer months at the beach, winter vacations in Fort Myers Beach with her husband, her sons, and her mother- and father-in-law, creating lasting memories filled with warmth, laughter, and togetherness. Above all, Lenora's greatest pride was her family. She created a home filled with love, support, and enduring memories that will continue to live on in those she held closest.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the entire staff of The Hospital of Central Connecticut. All of the doctors, nurses, techs, and one-to-one caregivers provided exceptional care, comfort, dignity, and compassion throughout her care journey and deserve recognition. The Infectious Disease, Palliative Care, ICU, GI, IR, General Surgery and Oncology teams were also instrumental in the quality care that she received.
A very special and heartfelt thank you is also extended to her sister-in-law, Jody Wuennemann, for the extraordinary love, support, and unwavering care she provided throughout this difficult journey. Her presence and devotion brought great comfort to Lenora and the entire family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Scott Casserino; her sons, Kyle and Kevin Casserino; her father- and mother-in-law, Joseph and Connie Casserino; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kurt and Jody Wuennemann; her sister-in-law, Melissa Sheffy, and her husband, Tony; her aunts, Patricia Chaput and Rose Knapp; her nieces, Jordan Casserino and Blair (Casserino) Gianatti ; her nephews, Justin and Taylor Wuennemann; many beloved cousins whom she considered her closest friends; and many other relatives and friends who will miss her deeply.
She was predeceased by her parents, James and Anna Randi, and her brother-in-law, Joseph Casserino, Jr.
Though she is no longer with us, Lenora's love, creativity, and kindness remain deeply woven into the lives of those she touched. Her legacy will continue through her family and the many people who were fortunate to know her.
Forever loved, forever remembered and forever missed.
