

Born in New Britain on December 14, 1955, he was the son of Janet (Gasper) Abramczyk, 92, 0f Farmington and the late Leon J. Abramczyk Sr.
Leon graduated from the electrical program at E. C. Goodwin Technical School in 1975. He began his career at M & G Electric in Bristol, Connecticut with his lifelong friend Tony Michaud. He later became a carpenter, working alongside his father, Leon Abramczyk, Sr., for Genovese and DiDonno. He retired from Central Connecticut Acoustics in 2012.
He is survived by his four children and their spouses: Dr. Tracey and Danny Surrett of Rock Hill, SC; Jennifer and Justin Tarlton of Marion; Steven and Ashley Abramczyk of Plainville; and Leon J. Abramczyk III and his partner, Katrina Quoka, of Marion. Known to his three grandsons as Poppy, he leaves Jackson, William, and Joseph Surrett of Rock Hill, SC. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Michael Meehan of Plainville; his cousin and lifelong brother-at-heart, David Abramczyk of New Hartford; two God children; Kelly De Bellis of Plainville and David Abramczyk, Jr of New Hartford along with many cousins, five nieces; and one nephew. Our hearts are broken.
His family extends heartfelt thanks to Southington Police Officers Derick Madrid-Ruiz, Tonny Francois and Sgt. DiBattista. Your professionalism, compassion, and kindness will always remain in our hearts. Thank you for your service to our beautiful town.
We also thank the Southington Fire Dept., AMR EMTs and paramedics who responded to our home. You are outstanding professionals doing difficult work in moments of great emotion. You worked as a team, and we thank you sincerely from the bottom of our hearts.
His funeral will be held on Friday, July 10th at 8:15 AM from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville for a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Plantsville.
