She passed away on August 13, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at Geer Nursing & Rehab in Canaan.
She was born in Syracuse, NY on October 17, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Lewis and Ellen (Unikewicz) Butler.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved to travel with her family, especially on cruises, and she has traveled to all 50 states. Lois also spent many years at her winter home in Cocoa, FL. She loved to entertain her family and was famous for making pizza and raisin nut cookies, as well as always announcing, "Dinner's ready!" after everyone was finished eating and she could finally sit down. Over the last few years, she enjoyed staying in touch with her many friends and family via Facebook.
In addition to her husband, Lois will be extremely missed by her children, Pam Gordon and her husband David, Joseph Mauro, Lisa Bousquet and her wife Phyllis Robinson, Michael Mauro and his wife Sue, Kate Messina, and Amy Mauro and her partner Peter Staley; her three sisters, Yvonne Webber, Maureen Mirando and Marge Marine; 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Butler.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, August 20th at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Southington for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lois' memory to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38108.
