

Southington- Louis Frugale, "Louie” entered eternal rest on November 30, 2014 at the age of 85, died peacefully in his home with his devoted wife Earlene Frugale by his side. He was born on June 17, 1929 in New Britain, to James and Mary Frugale. Louie was the first born son and had 1 brother and 5 sisters. He graduated from New Britain High School in New Britain, CT. After graduation he made the decision to serve his country and enlisted in the Marine Corp. He was a proud member of the Marine Corp Band. His Military career was shortened due to the sudden death of his father. Louie was honorably discharged and returned home to help his mother raise his younger siblings. Louie began his working career in a grocery store and soon after became a civil service worker for the United States Postal Service. After 30 years of service he retired from the Post office in 1984. Louie was an accomplished musician and often performed in many bands. Prior to his illness with Alzheimer’s he enjoyed his retirement playing his saxophone and clarinet, golfing, and taking vacations to Daytona Beach FL. He was a kind gentleman who was passionate about his family and grandchildren. He was a man of faith and a parishioner at St. Dominic Church in Southington.
He is survived by his beloved wife Earlene Frugale, 5 children and their families: James and Karen Frugale, Diane Cobb, Michele and John Burke, Celine Morris and Stephanie and Scott Patterson Grandchildren: Nicholas, Christina and Joey Frugale, Heather and Joshua Cobb, Caroline Burke, Katie Cichon, and Tyler Patterson. Great granddaughters: Angelis and Alexia Cichon-Melendez. Louie was predeceased by his parents, and two of his sisters Rose Frugale and Ida DiPinto. He is survived by his sisters and their families: Margie and Adolph Faticoni, Mary Jean and Roy Thompson and Gloria Frugale, his brother and family, James and Jean Frugale, his adored God daughter, Rose Aparo, several cousins, nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends.
The funeral will be held at 9:45 am from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St., Friday December 5, followed by a mass at St. Dominic Church 1050 Flanders Rd. in Southington at 10:30 am. Burial will be at St. Thomas cemetery with military honors. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 7 pm.

The family would like to thank the Southington VNA and CT Hospice services for their dedication and support over the past several months, and especially during this past week. Louie passed with dignity in his own home. And, their support made his last wish possible.
