Lucille "Lucy" (Renda) Sorice

Lucille “Lucy” (Renda) Sorice, beloved wife of Robert C. Sorice, passed away peacefully at her home on February 8, 2026. She was born on July 14, 1952, in Southington, Connecticut, to the late Nicholas and Theresa (Mauro) Renda and was also predeceased by her stepfather, Donald Mackenzie.

Lucy dedicated 35 years of service to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, formerly known as Newington Children’s Hospital, where she worked in the Foundation Department. Her commitment to the hospital reflected her generous spirit and deep compassion for children and families, values that guided her throughout her life.

Lucy was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and cherished sister and aunt. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle White, and her husband, Bruce; her sister, Theresa Gambordella, and her husband, Robert; and her stepchildren, Renee Somers, Jacqueline Charette and her husband Carl, Jeannette Sorice, and Elizabeth Sorice. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Nicole Babin and her husband Cameron; Christine Usborne and her fiance Jesse; Christopher Charette; Luke Somers Roias; Victoria Charette; and Calise Somers Roias, as well as many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Lucy was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Cheeseman; her brothers, Nicholas and Joseph Renda.

Lucy will be remembered for her kindness, dedication to her family, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A visitation for Lucy will be held on Tuesday February 17 from 9-11 AM at DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. Southington, CT 06489. A graveside service will immediately follow the visitation at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristol.
