

She was born on Feb. 8, 1916 in Southington the daughter of the late David and Mary (Flynn) Grise. Luella graduated from St. Vincent?s Nursing School. She started her career at Bristol Hospital and then was at Bradley Memorial Hospital when it was a 13 bed hospital; from there she became a school nurse in the Southington School System until her retirement. She was a parishioner of Mary Our Queen Church. Here hobbies were playing bridge and painting in her elder years, but most important in her life was her faith and family.
She is survived by 3 children, Robert D. Foley of Cape Cod, MaryLou Kane of Southington and Lisbeth (Patrick) Dugan of Pittsford, NY, 7 grandchildren, Jonathan Foley, Sarah (Randall) Gage, Francis (Dana) Kane, Jennifer Maranchie, Margaret Mary (Gene) Stenzel, Patrick (Jenna) Dugan and Maeve Dugan, 7 great-grandchildren, Isabella and Gabrielle Maranchie, Timothy and Molly Gage, Kieran Stenzel, Chelsea and Lila Luella Kane.
She also leaves a brother Rev. J. Clifford Grise, who resides retired in Stamford, a brother-in-law George Reeve of Southington, a sister-in-law June Foley of Atlanta, GA and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother David P. Grise.
The family would like to thank the staff at Southington Care Center and at Hospice of Central CT for their excellent care and concern.
Her funeral will be held on Friday at 10:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to Mary Our Queen Church at 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
