Margaret Cherniack

Margaret (Sollock) Cherniack, 87, formerly of Summit St. passed away Sunday Sept. 4, 2011 at The Hospital of Central CT, Bradley Memorial. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph J. Cherniack for 64 years.

She was born September 1, 1924 in Southington, daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Trizuljak) Sollock. She had worked at the former Cooper?s Fine Clothing store in Meriden prior to her retirement. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, going to the casinos, and playing bingo. Mrs. Cherniack was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church. She is survived by a son, James Cherniack and his wife Anne of Derry, N.H., a daughter Jean Griglun and her husband John of Southington, her grandchildren, Heather Cherniack, John Cherniack, James Griglun and his fiancé Stephanie Mole`, Jennifer Griglun Irazabal and her husband Ian, and Joseph Griglun. She also adored her great-grandchildren, Alexis, Olivia, and Joseph Irazabal. She is also survived by a brother Stephen Sollock of Agora, CA. She was predeceased by a brother Joseph Sollock.

The Funeral will be held Wednesday at 12 noon at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington.
