Mario M. Ciccarello

Born October 19, 1927 in Mellili Sicily, Italy he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Salvatrice (Gianni) Ciccarello.

Mario was a veteran of WW II serving with the US Navy. He was employed by the Town of Berlin school system retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Southington Elks Club and the American Legion post 72. Mario loved to sing, play cards and going to the casino.

Besides his wife Rose he leaves his daughter Kim Ciccarello of Southington; two brothers, Louis Ciccarello and long time companion Susan Blazer of Norwalk and Salvatore Ciccarello and wife Rosalie of Middletown; a sister Ann Imme of Middletown; two granddaughters Nicole Kelsh and husband Michael of Salisbury, NC and Erica Albrecht and fiancée Sean Alderi of Southington and twin great grandsons who he adored, Ryder and Corbin Kelsh. He also leaves his two cats Emma and Sophie. He was predeceased by a daughter Doreen Ciccarello, a brother Michael Ciccarello and a sister Rose Marie Ciccarello.

A memorial Mass will held on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made to the American Heart Assoc., P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington assisted the family with the arrangements.
