Mary Nolte Akerley

Southington- Mary Nolte Akerley, 74, of Riverside St., passed away after a long illness peacefully, surrounded by her family at her home on Wednesday April 25, 2012. She was the wife of Roger Akerley. Mary was born in Springfield, OH and was the daughter of the late Margaret and Joseph Lothschuetz. Mrs. Akerley was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Springfield. She received her BA from the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati.

Mary had a long and varied career in teaching, along with human resources, industrial nursing and managing industrial compensation accounts for insurance companies. She was an avid reader, loved to play cards, enjoyed music and dancing and was a regular at Southington?s Music on the green. She loved the beach, fishing and being by the water, especially Block Island. She was a devoted and loving mother.

Besides her husband she is survived by her children, Sheila Nolte of Bristol, Matthew Nolte and his wife Marie and their daughter Hailey Nolte of Charlotte, NC and Stephen Nolte and his wife Jennifer and their son Daniel of Cheshire.

The Funeral will be held on Tuesday May 1st at 9:15 AM from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., to St. Dominic Church 1050

Flanders Rd., for a Mass at 10 AM .Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 6-8 pm.
