Born in Meriden, CT on August 13, 1930, Mary was the daughter of the late Amedeo and Anna (Fantozzi) Aldi. She was a graduate of Lewis High School of Southington, class of 1948. She was a proud longtime resident of Southington, where she cultivated a life of devotion, hard work and creativity. Her church of faith was St. Aloysius Church in Plantsville from its founding years until her passing. Her kindness, caring spirit, and boundless love touched all who had the blessing of knowing her. Her warmth and gentle nature will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
Mary worked over two decades at the United States Postal Service in Plantsville until retirement. After retirement, she worked part time at the Aqua Turf in Plantsville on a team with other senior citizens setting up the table place settings and bonding friendships. Additionally, after retiring from the Postal Service, Mary embraced her creative passion as an artist, finding joy in drawing, painting, baking, and cake decorating. Friends and family loved her beautifully decorated wedding and special event cakes. Since childhood she played the piano and continued to play up to this year of 2025. Friends and family enjoyed visiting Mary and hearing her play songs on her Baby Grand Piano. Mary also took pleasure in her earlier years in playing additional instruments such as the accordion, guitar and ukulele. She would also often be found breaking out into random song, singing various ballads at home with her daughter Carol. Some of the many memories her family will hold dearly in their hearts.
She is survived by three loving children, Anthony Coccagna and his wife Florence, Nancy Coccagna (Nieves), and Carol (Coccagna) Ladd her loving caregiver; grandchildren Marci Nieves, Christina Angeli, Tyler Paparello and his wife Amber; and great-grandchildren Vincent Ladd, Isabella Ladd, Gian Paparello, Mia Paparello, and Stella Paparello.
