Mary Leach

She was born Aug. 19, 1915, in Southington, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (DeAngelo) Simone. She worked as a bookkeeper at Peck Stow & Wilcox , Ideal Forge and later for Dr. Richard Simone.

She is survived by her devoted daughter Marilyn Lemire of Southington, her cherished grandchildren, Caleb Cowles and his wife Erin of Bristol and Elizabeth Johnston and her husband Gary of Southington, and her great grandchildren, Sawyer, Jonah and Molly. She also leaves her sister Helen DellaVecchia of Southington, and many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. She was predeceased by her beloved 3 sisters and 6 brothers.

Mary was a great baker and loved cooking meals for her family especially her grandchildren. She loved to play cards, travel and read. She belonged to the Women's Club of Southington and the Southington Fire Dept. Women's Auxiliary.

The family would like to thank the caring staff of the Alzheimer's Resource Center in Assisted Living and 2A for their compassion and their dedication to Mary.

The Funeral will be held Monday at 9:45 am from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington to St. Thomas Church at 10:30 am for a Mass. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 -6 p.m. Donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Assoc., 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
