

He was born in New Britain on May 29, 1942 and was the son of the late Michael J Cambo Sr and Mary S (Bezik) Cambo. A native of Plainville, CT., he graduated from St. Anthony's High School in Bristol and received a bachelor's degree in business administration from St. Michael's College in VT. He also studied printing and management at Rochester Institute of Technology in NY and earned two Masters Degrees, one in Accounting and one in Applied
Linguistics at Hartford University. He also joined the Peace Corps and worked as a volunteer in South America. He retired from Carabobo University in Venezuela, where he worked for over 25 years, as a professor as well as
the head of the English Department, and the Director of International Academic Affairs.
He was a gregarious and caring person who helped people throughout his life. He enjoyed playing several music instruments, composing music; and was interested in Astrology and woodworking. He was an active parishioner at St. Joseph's Church in Bristol where he had resided since 2001.
In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by his daughter Cynthia Ann Cambo of Bristol; his son and daughter-in-law Michael James Cambo III and Anitra (Doyle) Cambo of Inverness, FL.; two Grandchildren Eleonora Marie and Michael James Cambo IV; his sister and brother-in-law, Millicent (Cambo) Mal and Chester Mal; his sister-in-law Eleonora (Kulynych) Urdaneta of Venezuela, South America; and several cousins, nieces and a nephew. He will also be deeply missed by his faithful companion Spunky as well as by many friends here and in South America.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hartford Hospital and to express their deep appreciation to the friends who were there for them during such difficult days.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday Nov. 29, at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church 149 Goodwin St. Bristol. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. Southington.
