On December 14, 2019 at 5:14 p.m., this world lost an extraordinary, gracious man. The very definition of a nice guy, quiet yet fun-loving and a big bear of a man with an equally big heart and a perpetual twinkle in his eye. Michael began his career at the Sting Nightclub and toured with Blast for 4 years. Michael worked for ITASE Local 47 Stagehands Union for over 20 years and was often on the road setting up stages for national music acts in earlier years and continued this job putting countless people to work in various venues on a daily basis. For the last 3 years he was head carpenter for the Toyota Oakdale Theatre (his second home). He worked on countless shows over these years and never missed a performance.
Michael enjoyed the theatre and music most of all. In his spare time, you could always find him on the last barstool at the bar Smokin' with Chris or in Roxbury at Roxbury Studio.
Michael leaves two brothers, Frank Grazioso and his significant other, Cynthia Ciafardoni, Toni Grazioso and his significant other Mary Jo Pallotto and the love of his life, Mary Barbagallo. He leaves behind many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends he called family.
He was predeceased by his dad, Frank (Frank the hat) Grazioso and his mom Elizabeth (Cardinale) Grazioso and his sister Maria Grahn.
There will be no calling hours at his request, but a Celebration of Life will be held at Smokin' with Chris, compliments of his dear friends Chris and Laura Conlon on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 10-2 p.m. If any of the performers, friends and mentors that Michael favored would like to serenade his life the way Michael lived, through music, there will be a stage and a microphone set up. In lieu of flowers and gifts a fund has been set up to give a Southington High School Senior a scholarship to pursue a music career. There will also be a station set up at the celebration in order to donate that day. https://fundly.com/mike-grazioso-music-theater-scholarship. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington is assisting with the arrangements. For online condolences please visit, http://www.dellavecchiafh.com" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">www.dellavecchiafh.com
