Michael J. Montana

Michael was born in New Britain on August 23, 1964, the son of Beverly (Pelegrino) Montana and the late Thomas L. Montana. He was a graduate of SHS class of 1983 and had attended Tunxis Community College. He was the owner and operator of the Groggy Frogg in Southington for the past 12 years which had won awards his wings 7 years in a row. He was a two letterman at Southington High School, a long-time coach for the Southington Midget Football League, and was inducted into the Memorial Park Midget Football Hall of Fame. He enjoyed jet-skiing, snowmobiling, vintage cars, and watching his beloved Arizona Cardinals.

In addition to his Mom, Beverly he is survived by a son Michael Austin, his brother Mark T. Montana and girlfriend Nancy Brummett, his sister Jill Burleigh and husband Scott, a niece Jessica Montana, and nephews Zachary Burleigh and Jake Montana all of Southington. He also leaves several aunts and uncles; Joyce and George Rosado, Denis and Karen Pelegrino, Richard Pelegrino, and Lois O'Callaghan, as well as several cousins, many close friends, and his Groggy Frogg family.

He was predeceased by his Dad, Thomas L. Montana, as well as his grandparents Joseph and Ruth Pelegrino and Louis and Freida Montana.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday June 5th at 10:30 am at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Road Southington. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday June 4th from 4-8 pm at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington.

A trust fund has been set up for his son, Michael Austin. Donations may be made in his memory to the Michael Austin Trust Fund c/o TD Bank, 121 Main St. Southington, CT 06489.
