

On October 5, 2019 he married, Tara (Ouellette) O’Brien, and the two were never happier. Tara is the daughter of the late Marguerite "Bunny" Ouellette.
Michael was born in Bridgeport, the son of William and Joan (Ward) O’Brien, Jr. of Wolcott. He earned his GED by being home-schooled during high school while interning at Seven Angels Theatre to learn about lighting, soundboard and theatrical production. Afterwards, he attended and graduated from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting.
Michael was employed by Certified Utility Services. He enjoyed working as a “DJ” in venues throughout the area where he entertained people with karaoke, trivia games and helping create lasting memories at weddings and other such events.
Mike was interested in theater, astronomy, electronics, emerging technologies, and he was an avid Star Trek fan. He always made himself available to listen to friends who could use an ear. Mike was also the family birthday cake artist.
Mike trusted in God's will. He was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Mary Mother of the Church Parish. He participated in several Marches for Life in Washington, D.C. and volunteered his audio/visual talents to CT Right to Life.
Besides his wife and parents, Michael is survived by a sister, Mary Siobhan O'Brien, two brothers, Christopher James O’Brien of Wolcott, and Commander Patrick Liam O’Brien, U.S. Navy Reserves and his wife, Marina, of University Park, MD along with two nephews, Filip and Stefan. Michael is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services are private because of the current Covid-19 pandemic. Mass and Memorial Services to be announced. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home in Wolcott is honored to serve Michael’s family at this time.
