Norman Joseph Bureau, 96, of Southington, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain Campus. Born on April 29, 1929, in Collinsville, CT, he was the son of the late Oland and Lettia (Couture) Bureau.
A Southington resident for over 60 years, Norman built a beautiful life with his beloved late wife, Therese, who predeceased him in 2018. He worked for many years as a shop foreman at Hansom and Whitney, where he was respected for his skill, dedication, and leadership.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Norman honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict. Beyond his professional and military accomplishments, he will be remembered for his deep love of music. A talented self-taught musician, Norman could play the banjo, keyboard, and organ entirely by ear, bringing joy to those around him with his gift.
Norman had a kind and curious spirit. He loved attending tag sales, finding small treasures that brought smiles to his family, and he was an animal lover who found wonder in all of God’s creations.
He is survived by his two loving daughters, Doreen London and her husband Allan, and Lyn Moreshead-Knitz and her husband Clinton. He also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, Denise London-Kaluna and Jenna Caren and her husband David; three great-grandchildren, Christian and Brady Kaluna and Kirra Gereau; and one sister, Suzanne. He was predeceased by his siblings Ginnette, Gaston, Cameline, Marguerite, Rolande, and Jeannine.
