
Southington- Orazio Longo, 93, of 161 Clark St. passed away Monday March 5, 2007 at home, surrounded by his loving family, a promise was made by his daughter Janie to remain at home all these years came true with the loving care of his daughters Janie and Maria.
He was the husband of the late Vitangela (Guerrera) Longo.
Born in Pontelandolfo, Italy on Nov. 7, 1913 the son of the late Saverio and Maria Grazia (Rinaldi) Longo. He was a Veteran of the Italian Army and the U.S Navy during WWII.
Mr. Longo was the owner and operator, along with his wife and family of the Manor Inn in Milldale from 1948-1973. He was a parishioner of St. Aloysius Church, a member of the Sons of Italy, the V.F.W. and an Honorary member of the Milldale Fire Company. He was a great chef and had a passion for playing cards and a love for gardening.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Maria Montana and her husband James of Milldale and Janie Bovino and her husband Severino of Southington, a daughter-in-law, Geraldine Longo of Farmington, 7 grandchildren, Larina M. Steinke and her husband Mark, James C. Montana, Michael S. Longo and his wife Bethany, Mariessa Theodorou and her husband Jim, Tanya M. Church and her husband Andy, Erica J. Bovino and her fiance Paul Sulzicki and Marc A. Bovino, 4 great grandchildren, Matthew O. Steinke, Luke J. Steinke, Jamie L. Montana and Justin J. Montana. He was predeceased by a son Sam Longo. He lived his life to the fullest with courage and strength, He touched many lives and will be missed by all those who loved him.
The Funeral will be held Friday, 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Aloysius Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of Central CT, 56 W. Main St., Plainville, CT 06062.
