He was my 5th grade teacher. Always had candy day, and would bring.us to the library and McDonald's as an after school activity. Used to enjoy eating lunch in his class watching beta movies of big foot, or the loch Ness. One.of.my favorite teachers.

It was an honor and privilege to teach alongside Pat Riccio...and...a whole lot of fun. Whether it was talking about his love for basketball, or witnessing his morning softball games with his kids before school, teaching with, and just knowing Pat was a gift.

Mr. Riccio was my 5th grade teacher and one of my favorites.  I still remember all the geography he taught us even now at 38. I was very shy then and he was so kind to me.  He was a wonderful teacher. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Mr. Riccio was an amazing teacher who taught with passion and purpose.  I was lucky enough to be taught by him in the 6th grade.  I am now 50; and there are maybe a handful of teachers who had enough of an impact for me to remember them.  Not only do I remember him, I remember him with fondness and a smile. I am so sorry for your loss, and our loss.  But if there is any way to take comfort, I hope you you can take comfort in how much he is loved and remembered by so many.

I absolutely loved his history class in sixth grade!  Mr Riccio was such a good teacher.  I am so sad to hear of his passing.  Russian history absolutely came alive in his class.  My prayers go out to his friends and family.

Mr Riccio taught me social studies in sixth grade at ELJHS. He was simply the best. He always spent extra time taking care of his students and creating activities after school hours for us. Children can feel if they are loved, liked, or simply tolerated and his students absolutely knew they were loved. He is an example of what all teachers should be. I am a teacher myself now (in Japan) and he has always  been one of my inspirations. We all loved him so much.  Gerard P. Grillo

Mr. Riccio taught me social studies in 5th grade at Lillie B. Haynes about 25 years ago, and in the last 25 years, I've thought of him so often-- especially during election years like this one. He was the first person who'd explained the electoral process and parties to us, inspired in me an interest in how our country was formed, and is probably the sole reason that I know our state capitals! :) Each time I catch myself humming "somebody open up a window!" from 1776, I smile thinking of him. Thank you for sharing him with all of us students. His impact has been positive and lasting.

To the family, 
I'm sorry for your loss and send my condolences. Losing a loved one is one of the hardest times in a family's life. Always know that others care. Most important God cares.  He has promised a time when he will "swallow up death forever, and wipe  the tears from all faces."  (Isaiah 25:8). Remember all the joyful times you all spent together with Pasquale And cherish them forever in your hearts. My prayers are with your family.

To Pat's family,
 I remember him, when he taught our 6th grade at Batcheller School in Winsted, CT.
that was around 1965-1966. What has and always stands out about him, is having taught us about current events. We had current events every day for the school year, that was the time when the VietNam War was going on, and other daily news world events. We would talk about it, and have class discussions on it. Therefore, we were watching news on TV, every night, and reading the news in newspapers. Some of us had often wondered where he went. 
   May God give you strength and comfort in the days ahead.
